Meet the Staff:

Kurt - Owner/Operator

Kurt is a skilled writer, director, producer and editor who has worked in the video production industry for five years. He graduated from Pikes Peak College on the President’s List, and learned his post production skills at Pikes Peak College and as an intern for IMS Productions of Colorado Springs. Kurt also interned with local ABC affiliate as Anchor-person camera operator. Before creating Peakview Productions, Kurt operated his own production business and freelanced as a camera operator, grip, gaffer, and audio technician.

Kurt was the recipient of the 2010 Silver Omni Award for his post production skills on America’s Eternal Flame: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The Omni Award recognizes media productions that empower, enlighten and engage audiences.

The HXR-NX5U NXCAM Professional Camcorder by Sony is a high definition video camera known for great picture quality, low light shooting capability, and image stabilization. This versatile camcorder excels in a wide variety of settings including documentaries, corporate videos, concerts and other live events.

Video can be recorded at a number of resolutions and frame rates. For example, it can capture 1920 x 1080 Full HD video at frame rates of 30 (29.97) and 24 (23.976), and 1280x720 HD at 60 (59.97) frames per second. In any format, breathtaking picture quality is assured with proven features such as a state-of-the-art G Lens and three Exmor CMOS sensors with a ClearVid array.

The three Exmor CMOS sensors and ClearVid array comprise a state-of-the-art sensor system from Sony which realizes high resolution, high sensitivity, a wide dynamic range, and excellent color reproduction, regardless of the codec. The wide angle 20x Sony G-Lens captures fine detail and image texture.

The EOS 60D by Canon is a digital single lens reflex camera (DSLR) with high definition video capabilities. The DSLR is quickly becoming a standard tool in the film and video production industries.

The 60D accepts all  Canon EF and EF-S lenses, including Macro and Fisheye, providing a plethora of shooting options once reserved only for still photography. The resulting HD video is a standout when it comes to it's beautiful depth-of-field characteristics. With an incredible capture capability, the 60D also provides remarkable HD footage even in the poorest of light conditions.

Like our Sony NXCAM, video can be recorded at a number of resolutions and frame rates. It can capture 1920 x 1080 Full HD video at frame rates of 30 (29.97 fps), 24 (23.976 fps) and 25.0 frames per second, for up to 4GB per clip. Other recording sizes include HD at 1280 x 720 (50/60 fps) and SD/VGA at 640 x 480 (50/60 fps) .

The 60D is, of course, a stills camera and therefore captures extremely high resolution photographs. We take advantage of this by also using it to create high definition time-lapse videos.

The Arri Softbank D2 Three-Light Kit was designed with modern, light-sensitive digital media in mind. Two of Arri's most popular Fresnel lights form the core of this lighting outfit.

This kit is our workhorse. It features two very efficient 300 watt Fresnels with low expansion, borosilicate Fresnel lenses that produce a soft, even field of light.

The 650 watt Fresnel features the same lens and reflector. It's perfect for interviews and soft light in tight spaces when equipped with the 16" x 22" Chimera softbox. Barndoors and diffusion gel complete the outfit, and are used to control light spill, soften and diffuse.

Powerful enough to light a small room yet small enough to fit in a large pocket, our versatile V-light Kit can be used as a broad, key, fill, back-light, or background light. It's the perfect partner for our Arri Lighting Kit.

With two compact 500 watt broad throw V-lights, stands, gels & umbrellas, this versatile kit can be used in several ways. The two V-lights alone can be used to raise the ambient level of a small room. For single person interviews, one V-light with the umbrella attached can become a soft key/fill light while the other can be used either with diffusion gel in the frame for soft fill light, or by itself to light up the background.
